RIP

Today, we celebrate the life death of lane 2.

You see, our second lane in drive-through at the pharmacy broke down, and instead of repairing it, corporate decided to simply do away with it.
I, for one, was not obliged.
(...and by 'not obliged' I mean my coworker and I may or may not have done a happy dance)

This is all that remains of our beloved lane 2
...moment of silence please...

I will not miss the incessant ringing of the bell, even though the person can clearly see me in the window helping lane 1.
I will not miss the people who pull into lane 2 to pick up their 100 prescriptions that can only be sent out 2 at a time in the tube (back and forth and back and forth).
I will not miss the people who leave their credit card in the tube and later call back angry like I'm the one that made them forget their own credit card.
I will not miss the people who pull into lane 2 knowing they're picking up their big box of albuterol or syringes and get angry with me when I tell them it won't fit in the tube.
And I most certainly will not miss grown adults yelling at me: "I WAS HERE FIRST!!!"

Yeah, I was really bummed about lane 2 being taken away from us.

Rest in peace Burn in hell lane 2
(Geez Rissa, a little harsh maybe?...Nah)

Where'd Fall Go?

It wasn't that long ago that everyone was pumped up for fall and the cooler weather, and all the other fall-y stuff; but it seems like once Halloween comes and goes, everyone kind of forgets about fall and totally overlooks Thanksgiving, and immediately switches into Christmas mode. So I'm kind of starting to feel sorry for Fall, and for Thanksgiving. I mean, Christmas is certainly my favorite and I am totally stoked to listen to Christmas music 24/7, decorate my house, make Christmas yummies, and all the other awesome Christmas-y stuff, but I don't think Fall and Thanksgiving are getting the attention they deserve. I waited forever (that might be an exaggeration) for fall to get here, so gosh dangit I'm gonna enjoy it before it's full steam ahead Christmas time!

So Nate and I were at Wally World tonight and they totally have these wannabe Scentsy's  out. BUT they were cheaper than Scentsy AND I could purchase them right then and there: no waiting for it to come in the mail and no shipping charges. So we bought one.

I LOVE things that smell nice...it's a nice change after inhaling stinky people all day at the pharmacy, and it gets rid of that seemingly permanent "eau de la Maycee and Gunny" that tends to linger at our house. They had the option to get really cute Christmas warmers, BUT in honor of Fall, I decided to go with the Fall theme...after all, it's the week before Thanksgiving and we gotta pre-game it up!

The Fall God's are thanking me right now.

My Fall decorations I purchased back in, like, August or something, wanted their moment in the spotlight too...

With that being said, I'm gonna go sit in my awesome "spiced pumpkin pie" living room, smell the fall goodness, and think about all the homework I didn't get done tonight cause I decided to blog instead.
...shoot, I totally just ruined the mood of this post.

Ah, well, I'll end the night with this bad boy...
Mmmmm!

Heard it Through the Grapevine

Word on the street is...my husband reads my blog. AND...he thinks I'm funny.
That's right, my mother-in-law let the beans slip that Nate actually reads my blog. She told me how they were talking about it at lunch one day at work, and Nate said that he reads it, and thinks it's funny, and sometimes wants to laugh out loud. But he can't let me know that he thinks it's funny because according to Nathan, then I would start thinking that I'm actually funny, and I suppose he just can't give me that satisfaction in life.

Victory.

Do you smell that?...that's the smell of victory my friends, because you see, it has become my life's work to make Nate laugh. Not laugh AT me, which happens more often than not, but laugh because he thinks something I did or said or wrote was funny. Cause Nate, well he's pretty hilarious. So when I can make Nate laugh I feel like the funniest person in the world. So thanks Sherri, for outing Nate because if it weren't for that little tidbit of information I wouldn't be able to sit here and rub it in and write a post about how my husband reads my blog and thinks it's funny.

I kinda wanna pull a Sandra Bullock right now and do one of these:
"You think I'm fuuuuuuny..."

Oops

So a few nights ago during the GOP debate Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, made a boo-boo. A big boo-boo. In fact, I'm not sure why I'm reposting this because it is painful to watch. I get embarrassed watching it. But I'm pretty impressed with how he's recovered and the fact that he can make fun of himself.

Here's the Gaffe:

And here are a couple clips of the aftermath; hope you think there as funny as I do!

Good luck diggin' yourself out of that one Governor!

Touche

A short while ago I posted this on my most beloved Pookie's Facebook wall, cause I was missing her ever so much:

Just the other day I logged on to the FB and found this waiting for me:

I think I've been outdone.

Touche Pook, Touche! =)

I'm a little obsessed with this video...
Okay, maybe A LOT obsessed.
Every lyric is truth.

Veteran's Day

Often times Veteran's day is simply a day off of work for most people. But lemme tell ya, in my household we celebrate Veteran's day!
My husband is a Veteran, he served in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom from '07-'08; and his Grandpa is also a Veteran who served in WWII.

It's weird how easily I get choked up about stuff like this now after having a husband deployed over seas. Anytime I hear the Star Spangled Banner, even simply saying the Pledge of Allegiance, or hearing someone else recite it makes my eyes well up. I know, it seems silly and I can't really explain it; but there's something about a person willing to lay their life on the line every single day, wear pounds upon pounds of gear and armor, have all kinds of strategic and technological knowledge on how to fight a war and use all kinds of weapons, do it all willingly for their Country and family.

It's courageous.
It's brave.
It's selfless.
It's admirable.

Home for good! '08

Shout out to Kenny Lindholm, Kelvin Baldwin, and Cheryl Tanis (I've already forgotten your new married name!), for watching out for each other and helping bring each other home safe!

Thank you to all those who have served and are currently serving our Country over seas.
