As a general rule of thumb, picking favorites is very hard for me. But we're about to attempt picking some Christmas favorites anyway.
Favorite...
Christmas Carol:
Oh Holy Night. I love all the versions and you definitely can't make me pick a favorite version but the millennial in me would like to kindly recommend NSYNC's version.
It's acapella and it's aca-awesome.
Christmas Tradition:
Ok this one is hard to narrow down a true favorite. Let's see... getting a real Christmas tree every year, shrimp on Christmas Eve, my family Christmas Eve party, watching the Christmas Day parade on TV Christmas morning, collecting Christmas ornaments throughout the year of the places we go, and probably a bunch more that I am not thinking of.
Christmas gift I ever received:
When I was a kid in gymnastics, thinking I'd go to the olympics one day, I begged my parents for a trampoline every Christmas year after year after year. My wish finally came true one year and it was the BEST surprise and I was so happy and I was not expecting it and I spent the whole day (and subsequent years) in the backyard jumping on the trampoline. Doing flips, trying to impress the neighbors as they watched me jump from their yards. You know, being super chill about it.
Christmas treat:
Buckeyes or chocolate cherry kisses. Buckeyes because they are two of the best food groups to have ever been invented: chocolate and peanut butter. And the Kisses because I grew up eating them and we make them every year during the holidays, and so when I eat one it tastes like Christmas.
Movie:
The Santa Clause
The Santa Clause > Elf. Don't @ me.
Christmas Memory:
My parents took my sister and I up north to Greer, Arizona one year to spend the holiday. My grandma came with us and we rented a little cabin and saw snow for the first time ever. One night we were all playing a card game and I remember something made my grandma laugh so hard. She started laughing and just did not stop and I had never seen her, or heard her laugh so hard ever in my life. And I just remember this moment so vividly and it warmed my heart so much to see her laughing so hard. The rest of us obviously dissolved into a fit of laughter too and it was just such an innocuous moment but I'll never forget it.
Christmas Candle Scent:
Frosted Cranberry from Bath and Body Works
Holiday Drink:
Besides wine? Hot chocolate with Bailey's
Christmas Decoration:
Twinkle lights! Lights on my tree, lights on my garland - twinkly lights everywhere!
What are your Christmas favorites?!
