Blogmas Day 7: Christmas Music Playlist

Christmas Music: the depths of which know no bounds. There is Christmas music to be had for any mood, any genre, any setting, any decade, and so on and so forth. I am here to share with you a little teeny tiny sliver of a fraction of that.

New Album Releases in 2020 (not by any means an exhaustive list)
-Carrie Underwood My Gift - anything Carrie Underwood sings sounds magical and beautiful and this album is no different.
-Ben Rector A Ben Rector Christmas - You have probably never heard of Ben Rector and I am here today to change that. His voice is effortless and this album is classic.
-The Goo Goo Dolls It's Christmas All Over - Don't sleep on the Goo Goo Dolls, y'all. I don't know how to describe this album...smooth? Easy to listen to? Nostalgic? Basically, all the things we loved about them in the 2000s.
-For King and Country A Drummer Boy Christmas - Big, powerful Jesus music. Exactly what we need in our Christmas season.
-Francesca Battistelli This Christmas - I am obsessed with Francesca's first Christmas album from 2012 and was PUMPED to see another one drop this year. She does Christmas music so well; the kind that is new but sounds old, like it's been around for years.

New Songs/Singles in 2020 (not by any means an exhaustive list)
-RaeLynn Jingle Bell Drunk - All of us, at the end of 2020.
-NEEDTOBREATH Silent Night - Two things: 1.) the voice of Bear Rinehart and 2.) harmonica action
-Ryan Hurd Silver Bells - Bass? In Silver Bells? Into it.
-Johnnyswim Pass Me a Pint - Ok this is a FUN song and yes, sir, I shall pass you a pint.

Playlists
Christmas Classics - Exactly what it sounds like: classic, timeless Christmas music.
Happy Holidays - I like this playlist because it is a blend of new and old seasonal favorites
Christmas Peaceful Piano - A vibe for relaxing, reading, writing, taking a bath, eating dinner, drinking coffee, drinking wine, petting your dog, staring at your Christmas tree, or any other activity that brings about a general feeling relaxing Christmas coziness.
Cozy Christmas Jazz - See above but add saxophones and stuff.
Hogwarts Christmas - Don't knock it 'til you try it ok? It's A mix of Harry Potter score pieces, holiday classics, and wintery classics that evoke the spirit of Hogwarts at Christmastime. Who does not want to evoke the spirit of Hogwarts at Christmastime?

The rest is by no means a favorites list because I don't dare try and choose favorites when it comes to Christmas music but I would be remiss if I did not mention these standouts and go-to's for me every Christmas season:
-The Carpenters Christmas Portrait
-Michael Buble Christmas
-Taylor Swift The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection (people sleep on early 2008 Christmas Taylor)
-Francesca Battistelli Christmas
-Bing Crosby Christmas Classics
-Glee Cast Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album (you're judging me for this one and it's fine. 1.) I used to be super into this show, and 2.) this is a wildly festive and freakin bomb Christmas album ok??)

What are you listening to this holiday season? What are your favs?!
