Progress Report: Baseball and My Husband

One of the goals on my 30 Before 30 list (check it out here) includes,
"Make Nate like baseball."

I decided it was time to take a stab at it.

In the past, I don't usually have the baseball games on TV cause, well, Nate isn't really down for that.
But I decided to change that this season, so I've had the games on TV in the evenings.
On top of that, I even dragged him to a game 4th of July weekend (check that out here).

Whether he's just humoring me, or is generally interested, we'll never know, but he's been surprisingly attentive and has even been asking questions about the game...really important questions. Things like, "Can the pitcher talk s**t to the batter? You know like, 'here's one for your mother!! Stuff like that?"
No, Nate.
Just no.

So, with all that being said, I decided to test his new-found knowledge with a pop quiz.
I know what you're thinking, but don't worry...I went easy on him and gave him multiple choice.

The bad news is he got the most important question wrong.
The good news is he got everything else right.
The other good news is he knows the truth about my boyfriend (see #5).

I'm thinking I should've changed the goal to "Make Nate like learn baseball."
It would've been a much easier task.

Shark Week: What You Won't Find on the Discovery Channel

This week marks the beginning of Shark Week

I'm gonna let you in on a secret that the Discovery Channel won't tell you...

There's new species of shark to be feared:

The Lab Shark

The Lab Shark is a sub-species of the Labradonian Shark, and can be found in the residential pool waters of the Southwest.
They are known for their endurance and size, ranging anywhere from 75-90 lbs.

Lab Sharks are the primary predators of marine-chlorine mammals, and prey on mostly bottom-feeders and plankton of the like.
For example:

They also rank the highest for having the most attacks on tennis balls.

Lab sharks live in any chlorinated bodies of water, and are most active in the months between May and September. One of the densest populations of this species is found at the King residence in Chandler, AZ, a suburb of the Greater Phoenix area.

These sharks have been recorded at depths as great as 5 ft, and have no migratory patterns known to researchers at this time.

Lab Sharks have a large, robust snout, and a unique fur-coating, unlike any other of the shark varieties.

If there's one thing to be noted: no tennis ball, noodle, kick-board, or hat is safe.

Rid your pools of any potential toys, or anything which can be chewed, and you will enjoy a safe and happy summer.

Below you can observe the Lab Shark in its natural habitat.
Caution: viewer discretion is advised.

Happy Shark Week!

H54F

 photo H54Fbutton-1_zpsa7aaa665.png

It's Friday Friday gotta get down on Friday...

You're welcome for that.

Here's 5 of my favorite things from this week!

1.) You've probably already noticed by now, but I got a new blog design!
The idea of including a picture of my blog design in my blog post is kind of silly, but the blogger in me won't let me do a H54F without including pictures for everything.
So you know.
Brielle, from Eleven Love did such a fabulous job, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!

2.) This Twitter account:

I always love a good chuckle when I'm scrolling through my Twitter feed and I find gems like these:
I'm totally gonna use that last one in my next text convo.

3.) Backstreet's back...ALRIGHT!
Backstreet Boys.
In concert.
It's happening next month.
#90sgirlsolutions

4.) This app:
I learned of this app after my bloggy friend Kasey from Life and Love With Mr. Wonderful, posted about it on her Instagram feed.
Get it now.
It'll change your life.
And your pictures and stuff too.

5.) Happy Birthday to my dearest Pookie Charlene!
Today is her birthday, so wish her a happy birthday and sing her the birthday song.
Mentally.
Cause she won't be able to hear it from here.
And also check out her previous birthday posts here and here

Happy Friday peeps!

Things That Never Cross a Dog's Mind

- I don't think I'll swim today, I don't wanna get my hair wet

- I don't feel safe in this car without a seat belt

- I better be careful where I wag my tail, I could break something

- I'm not hungry today

-I haven't showered in like, 3 weeks

- I feel naked

- I should celebrate my birthday

- I'd rather not put my mouth on that bone, it's kind of dirty

- That was really rude of me to beg for your food

- I feel dirty

- I'm getting bored chasing this ball

- There's no room for me on this chair

- That's mom's spot, I'll move

- That's just a car driving by, I don't need to bark at that

- I asked for a slutty nurse costume

- Too bad I don't have thumbs

- I wonder if mom will blog about us today?
