God and my Car

Get this...
My car horn is possessed.

It's true.

A couple weeks ago I went to honk the horn and nothing came out. I kept honking and honking...silence.

BUT get this...
Just the other day I went to honk the horn... and it went off.

So here's what I'm thinking:

The first day I tried to honk and discovered it wasn't working was when the car in front of me was taking too long to GO after the light turned green.

The next time I needed to honk the horn was on my way to school when a car tried to pull out in front of me to make a left turn and (clearly) did not see me. So I laid on the horn to let him know he didn't have time to make a left and wah-lah..it worked.

After that I tried to honk at the person in front of me that was wasting my left turn arrow cause she was yackin' on the cellular device...silence.

So with that being said, my hypothesis is that the horn works when it needs to save someone from something serious like an accident or something, but does not work when I'm just being impatient and need Sir Tortoise in front of me to punch it cause I'm in a hurry.

However, tonight, as I was driving through a four way stop, a car came flying up on my left and didn't look like he had any intentions of stopping. He literally rolled into the middle of the intersection before deciding to stop.
Cause today was not a good day and I was feeling a bit on edge I laid on the horn, swore a little at him in my head, and even gave him the "what the heck are you doing?!" arm motion (which is big for me. I'm usually one of those drivers who plays deaf and dumb)... and the horn totally worked!

So this puts a bit of a wrench in my hypothesis, and might just mean that my horn is simply schizo and works sometimes and not others...which is sooo not as fun as thinking that God might having been living in my steering wheel and every time the horn went off was because it was divinely inspired.

Not gonna lie, I'm a little bummed out about it

Wedding Week Link-Up: Pre-Ceremony

Next up on this wedding week link-up is all the pre-ceremony goodness! Check out the original link-up over at along the way with V and J

We were pretty fortunate on our big day to have nothing go terribly wrong. In fact, I was just so pumped for the day to be here that I really wasn't stressing out about anything. Our vendors were great, everything and everyone arrived on time, clothing fit and was in place...however, I will say that one of Nate's buttons fell off of his tux, but my mom had a wedding day emergency kit and was able to sew it back on.

Mom to the rescue

My dear friend and bridesmaid Kristy did my makeup for me for the big day, and helped me fix my hair that the stylist, ahem, messed up a bit on. So we started out at my house and where she made me pretty for the day! =)

We then headed over to the Shenandoah Mill in Gilbert, AZ to meet up with the rest of the ladies and put the finishing touches on things!

As soon as I arrived at the Mill, there is an upstairs loft where we were getting ready, and I started hearing my Maid of Honor, Charlene start yelling from below,

"POOK?! Is Pookie finally here?! Where's Pookie?!"

And as soon as she came upstairs, the photographer was able to catch our first meeting on my big day and it looked a little like this:
Presh. Right?!

After we settled in it was dress up time!

After the dress comes the garter!

Our parents were looking quite dapper as well, if I do say so myself!

Nate and I didn't see each other before the ceremony...cause I'm a little old fashioned like that...so the bridesmaids and groomsmen took pictures separately before the show got started!
Here are a few of my favorites!

The dashing groom

I'm pretty sure I could go on and on with the pictures but I'll spare you the time, since I think I just posted enough photos to fill a children's book...

Stay tuned for the next installments of this wedding week link up!

It's OK Thursday

Its Ok Thursdays

It's Thursday! Which this week, means it's my Friday!
Yay for me!

It's OK...

To feed yourself breakfast before you feed your dogs breakfast

To put the cell phone down when a car passes you for fear they'll pass judgement on you for being on the phone while you drive

To wonder if something is wrong if a friend doesn't use exclamation points in their text messages

If your trash can stays out on the curb all week (trash day is Tuesday) cause you just don't feel like rolling it in
...unless your mom comes over and sends you angry text messages cause she doesn't have anywhere to park
Muahaha!

To laugh to yourself while you blog...
cause dang it, sometimes I find myself funny!

To refuse to do homework while one Spring break...saving it up for the Sunday before you go back

To secretly loathe any professor that assigns homework due the Monday after Spring Break

If your husband, whom you haven't seen in a month, doesn't have much to say when he calls. I know who I married...and he's not much of a conversationalist!

To secretly wish that you had more blog followers

To have something really funny in mind to blog about, but decide against it because it was just one of those "you had to be there" moments and you think that maybe people just won't understand how funny it was in the moment.
...like for example, I was telling my mom about how my job has these "branded salutations" (which is code word for terribly cheesy and corny greetings and slogans) that they make us say when we talk to patients, and my mom was all like, "I wonder what they would make us say if we had a 'branded salutation'? ...she works at a doggy daycare/boarding place. ...and she looks at me with a straight face,
makes this hand sign:
 and goes,
"WOOF"

Yeah...so on that note...

Happy Thursday!

Wedding Week Link Up: Rehearsal Dinner

The second installment of this fabulous wedding week link-up is the rehearsal dinner!
You can catch the link-up over at http://jillandwillscharmedlife.blogspot.com/

Our rehearsal was at our wedding venue (duh?), the Shenandoah Mill in Gilbert AZ. We learned how and where to walk, and how and where to stand just like good boys and girls!
You can tell how intently the boys are listening to directions...
Would you believe me if I said I forgot my bouquet of wrapping paper bows??
Believe it.
Cause it happened.
And I was a little bummed, not gonna lie.

I requested that we have a moment of prayer during our ceremony. Mostly for me...cause if we're being honest here, I'm gonna need a lot of prayer...I'm marrying Nathan Townsend, after all.

...Kidding, we didn't pray for just me, people prayed for us as a couple and all those nice things...and then I silently prayed for me and that I won't kill Nathan or be too mean to him when doesn't put things back where they're supposed to go, or turn lights out when he leaves a room.

After we figured out how the big shin-dig was gonna go down, a little picture taking was in order...a little picture taking is always in order right?

My lovely bridesmaids
His (insert your own adjective here...) groomsmen
...minus Kelvin...cause he was late...but we won't go there =)

World's best Maid of Honor.
My MOH and BFF Charlene, or as I'd rather call her, Pookie
Best Man, Abel...can you tell their affection for each other?

The bridal party!!
...I couldn't get one picture where everyone was visible and smiling
...go figure
We miss you Kelvin!!

One of my FAV pics of my parents and I!

I wish I had a good reason to put this picture in this post, but I really couldn't come up with one, besides the fact that it's freakin' awesome.
Thanks Dan.

After the rehearsal we were off to Dinner! The rehearsal dinner was nothing too fancy cause I figure, we go to all this trouble planning a wedding, who wants to take the time and effort to plan another party??
My thoughts exactly!
So we decided on Macayo's mexican food restaurant cause mexican food is Nate's favorite...and plus they make a mean margarita. And by mean I mean delicious and tasty and fruity and delicious.
Exhibit A
Exhibit B
Exhibit C
Exhibit D
Exhibit E
...I should probably stop before people get the wrong impression...

I loved our rehearsal dinner because it was so laid back, everyone had so much fun (at least that's what they tell me) just talking and laughing and hanging out. It was so good to have all my closest friends and family all in one place!

We doled out some gifts for the bridal party...
Personalized tote bags, flip flops, jewelry, and (best of all) Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs for the ladies!
Nate picked out his groomsmen's gifts and got them flashlights. ...which is such a "Nathan" gift to give, if you know Nathan.
I'm like, "Really? Flashlights? For your groomsmen??"
And he's all, "Yeah, flashlights are really practical, and I want to get them something they can actually use you know?"

Point taken.
Can you tell how pumped Kenny is for his Leatherman flashlight??

But the best part of the whole evening is knowing that it's only a matter of hours until you will finally be married!!

Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did at your rehearsal dinner, and go link up at   A Charmed Life for this week of wedding fun!!
