Hi Hello It's Carissa

Mike check mike check. Hi hello, is this thing on? I'm here for blogging...this is where I do that right? I almost forgot what a blog looked like or even how to do it...cause it's been like, almost two months since I've last been here. Oops. I wish I could use emojis in blog posts cause right now I would use the one that has the bug eyes and looks confused.
I use that one a lot. Mostly because I'm often confused in life. That and the wine glass one. I use that one a lot too. Anyway, I don't know how I got to talking emojis. Probably because I forgot how to blog. So let's try for a list for the remainder of this post and maybe I can stay on track that way.

6 Things You Need to Know Since the Last Time I Blogged
You don't actually need to know any of them, it's mostly just me offering up information cause I think I remember that's what you do when you blog. So really, I should have titled that something else but I didn't...cause I forgot how to blog and appropriately title things.

1.) We got a boat
Well, Nate got a boat. It's a small fishing boat and it's nothing fancy but I'm kind of obsessed with it.
It's really comfortable and can fit a small cooler that I can then fill with booze. But that's not the main point. The main point is that spending the day on the lake fishing is so peaceful and relaxing and I even learned how to steer the trolling motor. Go me. Not that it's super hard but remember - I'm often confused in life and this includes learning to steer a trolling motor.
The first time we took it out for a spin we decided to also take the dogs, which I'm still deciding if that was a good or bad idea.
Maycee kept trying to jump in the lake and barked at everything that passed us (including but not limited to trees, twigs, branches, other boats, waves in the water, clouds, air, wind etc. etc.).
She finally settled down and wouldn't you know, she got pretty comfortable up front with Nate:
Gunther's a good boy and he dee gee ay eff (see what I did there), so he just chilled the whole time:
So anyway, long story short - if you don't have a small fishing boat, you need one. It's fun and if you play your cards right, you can find one that fits a small cooler that you can then fill with booze.

2.) Nate and I celebrated six years of marriage
Ugh, sorry. That was too many wedding pictures...two of which were kissing. Sorry, I don't know what got into me. Anyway, we spent our six year anniversary on said fishing boat (see #1 above) fishing and cheers-ing to six years of marriage:
The cheers-ing was mostly just me since Nate doesn't really drink. But hey, I wasn't gonna let that stop me. Happy anniversary to me!

3.) Nate got a new job
And by "new job" I mean that after months of testing and interviewing, Nate will soon be a police officer with the City of Chandler. I couldn't be more proud of him!

4.) Carissa got a new-ish job
Ok so it's not really a new "job" but one of my best friends Kailey got engaged last month and asked me to be her maid of honor! I'm so happy for her and can't wait to get started with the wedding planning! In fact, you can watch the proposal here. Not sure if she wanted me to plug that or not but oops, I just did. I met Kailey and Brianna through blogging and now they're two of my very best friends - it's such a cool thing to be part of her big day together!! Love these girls!!

5.) The dogs are swimming....already
Which means it's basically summer and we've already hit triple digits this week and I'm just not ready for it. But the dogs sure are.

6.) Baseball is back
And it's been back for like, a month now and during that month's time my quality of life has significantly improved. Cause baseball just makes your life better. In fact, I went to my first game of the season last weekend and there were three things that happened that culminated into what I like to call the perfect Dbacks trifecta:
1.) I got the Paul Goldschmidt hat they were giving away (yes, I sometimes plan my game attendance around promo's and giveaways)
2.) I fulfilled my dream of eating a churro dog
For those of you who weren't paying attention in the off season, the Diamondbacks came out with this glorious creation comprised of a churro placed in between a sliced donut, with frozen yogurt, whipped cream, and chocolate and caramel sauce drizzled on top. Life would be nothing if not for ballpark food. Thanks, Arizona Diamondbacks.
3.) My Insta was posted on the jumbo-tron during the game
...so basically, I'm famous.

So there's the seven things you need (or not really) to know since the last time I blogged. This post has taken me way too long to write so I hope to be back to blogging sometime before July so that it doesn't keep taking me this long to churn out a post and recap the last two months.

Miss you blog friends! Happy Monday!
